Summer of 2009, I spent a month collaborating on a residency project with Billy Brown in Greensboro NC. Our residency was at Elsewhere Artist Collaborative, a unique place that is two store fronts and three stories tall filled with artifacts collected over the past 40 years. Elsewhere contains bolts of fabric, toys, books, clothes, etc, that are now being used as resources for artist to come into the space and build upon the museum. One of the main themes of Elsewhere is to establish some kind of organized collection of the resources for others to easily find. For our project, Bill and I decided to gather all of the plush toys and create a fun and interactive piece that will be used as a gathering place for the plushies. We call it "Plush the Ride".
